What can cause a person to gain weight despite eating healthy?

Chronically high cortisol, the body's primary stress hormone, can cause a person to gain weight despite eating 'right', according to gastroenterologist Dr Vishal Khurana. Sleep deprivation, chronic stress, etc, can lead to higher levels of cortisol. He recommended eating items that give steady energy, nutrition and support the brain and gut, like high-fibre whole foods and healthy fats.
