What causes glaucoma and what are its symptoms?

Glaucoma is caused by pressure buildup inside the eye and this increased pressure is due to a backup of fluid called aqueous humor. The people with diabetes, eye surgery or injury increase the risk of glaucoma. In most cases of glaucoma, no signs or symptoms appear until optic nerve becomes damaged from rising eye pressure and vision begins to fade.
