Trinamool Congress has opposed Election Commission's proposal to set up polling booths in housing societies. BJP leader Rahul Sinha said, “It is obvious TMC would oppose such proposals. Educated persons don’t support them. So they try to stop them from reaching booth. Previously, they locked many societies so that people residing there can’t poll and TMC will give their votes."
