Meta's emails sent to 8,000 fired employees on May 20 said the reduction in head count was part of a "continued effort to run the company more efficiently". Employees were informed that they would immediately enter a "non-working notice period". Email also contained details on the severance package, certain disability benefits, health insurance support and access badges and internal systems.
