What does the Constitution of India say about official name of the nation?

Article 1 of the Constitution of India states that "India, that is Bharat, shall be a Union of States". Article 1, which also recognises both 'India' and 'Bharat' as official names of the country, highlights the unity and integrity of the nation. The draft of Article 1 was adopted on September 18, 1949, which was moved by Dr BR Ambedkar.
