What happens if a person cracks their neck too much?

While cracking their neck once or twice a day is "natural", if a person cracks their neck repetitively it can lead to joint instability, muscle strain or pinched nerve, according to chiropractor Andrew Bang. He added that the cracking sound comes from releasing negative pressure in a synovial joint, movements of ligaments and tendons, etc.
