What happens to pension accounts after employees change jobs?
Changing jobs does not require an employee to close their National Pension System (NPS) account or open a new retirement account. The key identifier is the Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN), a unique 12-digit number assigned to every NPS subscriber. It remains with the subscriber, allowing them to carry forward their account and accumulated pension wealth when switching employers.
