During heatwaves, the body's inability to regulate internal temperature and eliminate heat gain increases risk of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Loss of fluids and salt due to sweating and low blood pressure can cause heat exhaustion, with symptoms like dizziness, nausea, cramps, and fatigue. The strain put on body as it tries to cool itself also stresses heart and kidneys.
