What happens to the body if a person replaces white sugar with brown sugar in their diet?

Gastroenterologist Dr Anupama NK said white sugar is the worst for gut health as it's highly refined and feeds harmful gut bacteria. Brown sugar is only slightly better than white sugar as it still behaves like refined sugar in the gut, causing bloating and acidity. The small amount of minerals the brown sugar contains does not protect the digestive system.
