Low vitamin C levels can quietly weaken the body’s natural defence and repair systems. Early signs of vitamin C deficiency include slow-healing wounds, bleeding gums, dull skin and persistent fatigue. As immunity drops, people may fall sick more often and recover slowly. Prolonged deficiency can trigger scurvy, a condition linked to joint pain, easy bruising, loose teeth and anaemia.
