The airplane's modern vacuum toilet is based on the use of a blue liquid known as SkyKem, a non-stick coating, and a vacuum suction. The toilet's vacuum swirls the contents and deposits it into a "closed waste system". The collective waste and liquid are later vacuumed into a tank after the flight ends.
