To mitigate the impact of Middle East war, government diversified its energy import basket, with nearly 70% of imports routed outside the Strait of Hormuz. Government completed import of 98 lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser up to February 2026. RELIEF Scheme (₹497 crore) was launched to offset elevated freight and insurance costs. Faster approvals were facilitated to support PNG transition.
