What is 'chikungunya nose'?

'Chikungunya nose', the brownish pigmentation on the nose, is a known physical indicator of chikungunya fever. "The discolouration usually fades within a few weeks and is self-limiting in most cases," Dr Ameet Dravid, an infectious diseases consultant at Noble Hospital, said. "This occurs due to melanin deposition on the tip of the nose," Dr Dravid further said.
