'Phubbing' refers to the act of someone ignoring another person in favour of paying attention to their mobile phone. The term is a combination of the words "phone" and "snubbing". According to a study, phubbing causes the person being ignored, or 'phubbed', to view the other person in a negative manner and may also make the former dehumanise the latter.
