What is a deviated nasal septum?
short by Bhuvnesh Ojha / on Wednesday, 1 October, 2025
A deviated nasal septum occurs when thin wall (nasal septum) between the nasal passages is displaced to one side. Trauma and errors of development are the common causes for the deviation of the nasal septum. It can lead to chronic sinus infections, frequent headaches, nosebleeds, and breathing difficulties. Mild cases don't require treatment but surgery is recommended in severe cases.
