A Micromoon is a term used to describe full Moon near apogee. When Moon is near apogee or the farthest point in its orbit around Earth, it appears smaller and dimmer. NASA estimates apogee is around 4,05,500 km away from Earth. Micromoon is opposite of Supermoon, a full Moon that coincides with perigee (nearest point in its orbit around Earth).
