The government has warned against pig butchering scams, in which people are lured into investing money under false pretences. Under this, fraudsters build a fake friendship with individuals via dating apps and social media to convince them to try crypto trading. They trick people into using phony trading apps and demand hefty fees when the victims try to withdraw money.
