"Mahishasura Mardini" radio programme is a long-running, special dawn broadcast on All India Radio (AIR) that airs annually at dawn on 'Mahalaya', which falls on September 21 this year. It is a powerful audio montage featuring chanting from Chandi Path, devotional Bengali and Sanskrit songs, classical music and acoustic melodrama, centred around triumph of Goddess Durga over demon Mahishasura.
