The process of rearing of bees is called apiculture. Apiculture or beekeeping is the care and management of honeybees for the production of honey and wax. Bees are bred commercially in apiaries, an area where a lot of beehives can be placed. Notably, the UN observes World Bee Day on May 20 to raise awareness about the importance of pollinators.
