A five-year-old girl died from a brain-eating amoeba after taking bath in pond in Malappuram district of Kerala. She was diagnosed with primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), which is caused if water containing amoeba goes up to nose and brain.PAM's early symptoms include headache, fever, nausea, and vomiting. Most people with PAM die within 1 to 18 days after symptoms begin.
