A study published in International Journal of Psychology and Educational Studies defines Cinderella syndrome as "a concept which is used to define women who fear from being independent". "Women with Cinderella syndrome are in the need of men's refuge and protection," it said. "In the syndrome, women expect a man to come and take control of their lives," it added.
