What is Datura, over which Karnataka suspended Amazon & Instamart's food licences?

Karnataka FDA suspended Amazon, Instamart and BigBasket licences for selling poisonous datura fruits and seeds for consumption. Datura is a genus of poisonous flowering plants containing chemicals known as tropane alkaloids. These chemicals disrupt acetylcholine, affecting eyes, heart and other organs. Consumption can cause confusion, hallucinations, dilated pupils, rapid heartbeat and seizures.
