Delayed sleep phase syndrome is a condition that affects one's ability to fall asleep and wake up on time, hindering an individual's internal clock. The syndrome has a genetic cause that makes body's circadian rhythm longer than average. This can lead to severe daytime sleepiness, behavioural changes, and issues with memory and concentration. It's mostly common among adolescents and teenagers.
