What is driving biggest dengue outbreak in Florida in decades?
Florida has reported 252 locally acquired dengue cases this year, surpassing its previous annual record of nearly 200 cases in 2023. Most cases were reported in Hillsborough County. Travel patterns, warmer temperatures and other climate conditions may be driving the surge. The state has declared emergencies in three counties and intensified mosquito-control efforts.
