A PIL has been filed in the Delhi High Court against the opposition parties for using the acronym I.N.D.I.A for allegedly violating the Act. The Act prevents the improper use of certain emblems and names, including those which indicate the patronage of Government of India/state government, for professional and commercial purposes. A violation carries a penalty of Rs. 500.
