What is ice pick headache?

An ice pick headache, also known as primary stabbing headache, is head pain that's sudden, sharp and stabbing. The pain usually targets the area behind forehead and eyes (frontal area) or side of head near ears (temporal area). These headaches last for only a few seconds but can occur multiple times a day. They are more common in migraine patients.
