India is moving to develop a hypersonic cruise missile under Project Vishnu, capable of reaching Mach 8 (around 10,000 kmph). The missile’s titanium body will be protected by silica tiles to withstand extreme heat. Currently before the Cabinet Committee on Security, future versions of the missile may reach Mach 10. Once ready, it'll be deployed by the Indian Air Force.
