On being asked about India's position regarding recognition of Palestine, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "India was one of the first countries to recognise state of Palestine in 1980s." India supports two-state solution which entails establishment of a sovereign, viable and independent state of Palestine within mutually agreed borders, living side by side with Israel in peace, he added.
