Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was reportedly captured by Delta Force, the US Army's elite special mission unit. Officially known as 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment–Delta, it is a Tier-1 special mission unit tasked with high-risk counterterrorism and sensitive operations. The unit carried out the 2019 operation that resulted in the death of ISIS founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
