What is Premenstrual dysphoric disorder?

Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), according to Harvard Health. Women with this disorder have five or more PMS symptoms, including depressed mood, crying spells, aggressiveness or hostility and feelings of being overwhelmed or out of control. PMDD symptoms start during the week before menstruation and end within a few days after period starts.
