The Ram Air Turbine (RAT) got deployed on the Air India plane that crashed in Ahmedabad, killing around 270 people, reports have said, citing experts. RAT is an emergency power system, which automatically deploys on modern aircraft like the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner which crashed. Its deployment reportedly indicates double engine failure, hydraulic pressure drop or complete electrical failure.
