Before the launch of iPhone 17 series, Apple has partnered with Reliance Jio to bring RCS messaging. RCS is Rich Communication Services, which will allow Jio users on iPhones to send iMessage-style "blue tick" RCS texts, share high-resolution photos and videos, receive read receipts, and engage in group chats all via mobile data/WiFi. This will offer functionality similar to WhatsApp.
