The Supreme Court has sought the Centre's response regarding the application of the 'Romeo-Juliet law' in India in cases of underage but consensual sex. The law aims to protect underage boys from arrest if the age difference between the boy and the girl involved in consensual sex is not over four years. The PIL seeks decriminalisation of consensual teenage sex.
