PM Narendra Modi inaugurated a semiconductor plant of Kaynes Technology in Gujarat's Sanand on Tuesday. The Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility will assemble and prepare chips for commercial use across sectors like automobiles, consumer electronics and telecom. The facility is expected to produce 60 lakh chips per day and it is built at the cost of ₹3,300 crore.
