More women are prone to Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection or SCAD, a life-threatening heart condition that occurs when there is a tear on the wall of the coronary artery, which can ultimately lead to a heart attack. Experts say although it is not clear why it mostly happens in women, research indicates fluctuations in female hormones may play a role.
