Shaken Baby syndrome (also known as Shaken Impact syndrome) is a type of inflicted traumatic brain injury which happens when a baby is violently shaken, often out of anger and frustration, as the baby won't stop crying. It can result in serious injuries and sometimes fatal brain injury as babies have weak neck muscles and a large, heavy head.
