India's Department of Telecommunications has mandated SIM binding for messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, etc. This means users can only access their accounts on devices that have the same SIM card used during registration of those accounts. If the SIM is removed, inactive, or replaced with another SIM, the apps will block access to the accounts and log users out.
