Cases of parvovirus B19, which is more commonly known as Fifth disease or slapped cheek syndrome due to the red rash that covers an infected patient's face, are rising in the US.The first sign of slapped cheek syndrome is usually feeling unwell for a few days. Its symptoms may include high temperature, runny nose and sore throat and headache.
