The stag beetle, which sells for up to ₹75 lakh, is world’s most expensive insect found across Asia, Europe and Americas. Breeding them is expensive and often unsuccessful because they spend 2–5 years as larvae but live only months as adults, making them rare. They're believed to bring fortune in Asia, whereas owning them is a serious hobby in Japan.
