What is sun poisoning?

Sun poisoning is a term used to describe a severe sunburn. It occurs from prolonged sun exposure without sun protection or with inadequate sun protection. The symptoms of sun poisoning start with a red rash and can change into blisters, severe pain, swelling and fever. People with fairer skin are at greater risk of sun poisoning.
