What is T+1 trading settlement that US returned to after 100 yrs?

The T+1 settlement system refers to a system where the users receive shares and sellers receive funds one day after the transaction. T+0 settlement on the other hand lets the trade be settled on the day of the transaction itself. US is resuming T+1 settlement after around 100 years from Tuesday. Notably, India adopted the T+0 settlement this year.
