The '996' work culture in China forces employees, especially in the tech industry, to work from 9am to 9pm six days a week. Once endorsed by Alibaba Founder Jack Ma himself, the culture has been widely criticised and has also led to numerous deaths and suicides. China's young workers are choosing small towns over big cities to avoid '996' culture.
