The 7-day rule is a strategy to curb impulsive spending with a 7-day waiting period after identifying a want or need. The 'cooling-off' period allows one to evaluate if the item is necessary or if the desire for it fades with time. "This allows you to reconsider your purchase and think about its financial implications," Bankbazaar.com's CEO Adhil Shetty said.
