Constipation in children often comes down to low fibre and not enough fluids. Choosing Indian high-fibre foods like dal, whole grains, fruits and veggies softens stools and keeps things moving. Fibre works best when the child is well hydrated, and avoiding processed food like maida, fried snacks and sugar is also essential, according to dietician Garima.
