It is better for a person to eat carbohydrates in the morning if they want to lose weight or lower blood sugar levels, are exercising during that time and have issues falling asleep, according to registered dietitian Kate Patton. For people practising intermittent fasting, she said that they can have carbohydrates during their eating window even if they have diabetes.
