The Chakma language, also called Changma Bhaj or Changma Hodha, is an Eastern Indo-Aryan tongue spoken mainly in Bangladesh, India, and Myanmar. A tonal language, it uses the Chakma script (Awzhapath), derived from the ancient Brahmi script. Shaped by history, it contains numerous loanwords from Bengali, Hindi, and Sanskrit, reflecting diverse cultural and linguistic influences.
