Uber has warned about fake fare screen scam, in which drivers use a duplicate screen similar to Uber app to extort excess fare from riders. In case of suspicion, riders should ask the driver to refresh app and verify the fare, Uber said. If driver insists on higher fare, take screenshot of their fare screen and report them, it added.
