The Indus Water Treaty (IWT) is a water-distribution treaty between India and Pakistan, arranged and negotiated by the World Bank for the Indus River and its tributaries. Signed in 1960, it aimed to ensure the efficient use of shared water resources. India suspended the treaty after the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam.
