What is the rare Bombay blood group?

The rare Bombay blood group, also called 'hh', was named after the city as it was discovered there in 1952. It describes individuals whose red blood cells lack H antigen and they can only receive blood from another person with the Bombay phenotype. It's found in 1 of 10,000 individuals in India and it's generally not stored in blood banks.
