Nilkamal was conceptualized in 1981 when its founder traced down a milk van to uncover an opportunity for plastic crates. Vrajlal Parekh started with plastic buttons in 1934 and expanded into other household plastic products. In 1981, two brothers Vamanrai and Sharad Parekh expanded it into plastic crates. The current generation is expanding into hime decor and furnishings.
